Something that I found very interesting from the Italian Renaissance period was the client relationships that took place. It does not have much to do with the actual Interior Design from this period, but it was something that really surprised me during the lecture. Clients (architects, painters, furniture designers, sculptors, etc.) were hired on a long term basis. This means that you had your own painter; you did not just get a new one each time that you needed a painting. This interests me so much because we live in such a throw away society and a society that does not really value these types of relationships. It just amazes me to see such a big change in society over a somewhat short period of time.

This week, I looked at Natalie and Kristina P's blog. Both of their blogs were very interesting and I really like the things that they touched based on. Natalie emphasized the creation of the Palazzo. With this, she then discussed the Medici family and their influence in this period, which was quite interesting.
Kristina P's blog went into things that we did not talk about in class. Her blog discussed what the people in this time period were studying and what was going on in terms of politics; this intrigued me because it gives you a little more background information to help you understand the interior design aspect.
